We take responsibility all the way to the households where the needs are greatest, from financing and delivery to local implementation. Your gift may also be eligible for a tax reduction. Frequently asked questions about donating to Solvatten

What does my gift contribute to?

Your gift helps the Solvatten Foundation provide families and health clinics with access to safe and hot water using solar energy. The funds are used not only for the product itself but also for transport, local distribution, training, and follow-up together with local partners. Efforts are specifically directed toward families with children under five and people who lack stable access to electricity, fuel, and safe water.

How do I know the money is being used correctly?

The Solvatten Foundation is an independent legal entity with its own board, finances, and reporting requirements. The Foundation holds a 90-account and is audited by the Swedish Fundraising Control. The board is responsible for ensuring that gifts are used in accordance with the foundation’s purpose and that activities are monitored and reported. Current information on finances, projects, and results can be found in the foundation’s reporting.

How are the Solvatten Foundation and Solvatten AB connected?

The Solvatten Foundation and Solvatten AB are separate legal entities with different roles. The Foundation receives and manages gifts and decides how they are to be used in projects. Solvatten AB develops and manufactures the product and contributes technical expertise. When the foundation purchases products and services from Solvatten AB, the company reinvests the attributable profit proportionally into the projects. In this way, the impact of the gifts is further amplified.

Can I follow what my gift contributes to?

Yes. The Solvatten Foundation continuously shares project updates, photographs, films, and stories from user families and local partners. A smaller gift cannot normally be linked to a specific family because several gifts are pooled to finance entire deliveries and projects. However, you can follow where Solvatten is distributed, how the solution is used, and what change the projects contribute to.

Can I get a tax reduction for my gift?

Yes. The Solvatten Foundation is approved by the Swedish Tax Agency as a gift recipient. As an individual, you can receive a 25 percent tax reduction if each gift is at least 200 SEK and your total approved gifts during the year amount to at least 2,000 SEK. The maximum tax reduction is 3,000 SEK per year. In order for the gift to be reported to the Swedish Tax Agency, you need to provide your personal identity number. The information will then normally be pre-filled in your tax return.
